This Privacy Policy explains how TFC Refugees (the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit the Site, create an account, post content, submit files, contact us, or make a donation. The Site is operated in the United States and is intended for a general U.S. audience.
Information we collect
- Account information: username, email address, Steam identifier, optional Discord identifier, avatar, profile details, account status, and role or permission information.
- Content and communications: forum threads, replies, uploads, reports, contact messages, nickname-change requests, and other material you submit. Public profile and forum content can be viewed by other users and visitors.
- Technical and activity information: IP address, requested URL, timestamps, browser or device information made available through ordinary web requests, login and visit records, security events, and cookies or session identifiers necessary to operate the Site.
- Donation information: name or username, email address, amount, payment provider, status, and provider transaction or checkout identifiers. Payment-card and bank-account details are handled by Stripe or PayPal and are not stored by the Site.
- Game and integration information: Steam profile data, game-server query results, and Discord community presence information when those integrations are enabled.
How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts; authenticate users; display profiles and community content; operate forums, downloads, videos, donations, and game-server features; review submissions and reports; prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; communicate with users; maintain logs and backups; enforce our Terms; and comply with applicable law.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses essential cookies or local storage for sessions, security, CSRF protection, preferences, and administrative display settings. Third-party features may receive technical information or place their own cookies under their policies. You can restrict cookies through your browser, but essential Site functions may stop working.
When information is disclosed
We may disclose information to vendors that operate Site features, to administrators and moderators as reasonably necessary, when you make information public, to protect users or the Site, during a transfer of Site ownership, or when required by valid legal process. We do not sell personal information for money and do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Third-party privacy policies
These providers control their own processing. Their policies apply when their services load or when you choose to use them:
- Cloudflare: Turnstile bot protection and, where configured, network security or delivery. Cloudflare may process IP address and browser or device signals. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- jsDelivr: delivers Plyr media-player code and styles; requests expose ordinary network and browser data to its CDN. jsDelivr Privacy Policy.
- Valve/Steam: account authentication, public Steam profile information, and game connections. Steam Privacy Policy.
- Discord: community, bot, invite, member-presence, and optional account-linking features. Discord Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: donation checkout and payment processing when selected. Stripe Privacy Policy.
- PayPal: donation checkout and payment processing when selected. PayPal Privacy Statement.
- Google/YouTube: YouTube videos embedded in user or Site content may send IP address, device, cookie, and viewing information to Google. Google Privacy Policy.
- Email delivery: the configured Resend or self-hosted Postal service may process message contents and recipient or sender addresses.
Links to other websites, user-posted images, and user-posted embeds may also cause the destination or host to receive request information. We do not control those third parties.
Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Site, preserve community records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, satisfy accounting or legal requirements, and maintain backups. Retention varies by record type. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security.
U.S. privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal information; to obtain information about disclosures; to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling; and to appeal a denied request. The Site does not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity and may retain or deny deletion of information where permitted by law, including public records, security logs, and records needed for legal obligations.
Submit a request through the contact page. An authorized agent may submit a request where state law permits, subject to verification of the agent’s authority. Because the Site does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is presently no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to process.
Children under 13
The Site is not directed to children under 13. Anyone under 13 is prohibited from registering, submitting content, making a donation, or otherwise using interactive Site services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that an under-13 child supplied personal information, we will disable the account and delete the information as reasonably required by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and its implementing rule (“COPPA”). A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information should contact us promptly.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Site practices or applicable laws change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Questions and privacy requests may be sent through the contact page.
